The NGO "Gesture of Support" is proud to announce that the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service has approved the general professional (certificate) program "Mastery of Practical Skills of Ukrainian Sign Language (USL) for Civil Servants and Local Government Officials". This program was developed and successfully tested over the past two years by our organization.

In Ukraine, almost 2 million people have hearing impairments of varying degrees, of which about 400,000 Ukrainians in the world use sign language as their native and only language. The program of the NGO "Gesture of Support" is aimed at improving the accessibility of public services for people with hearing impairments, providing civil servants and local government officials with the necessary sign communication skills.

In recent years, our organization has been actively conducting Ukrainian Sign Language courses for rescuers, police officers, civil servants and other officials. The purpose of these courses is to eliminate barriers to communication, which will contribute to a prompt response to the requests of deaf people and improve the quality of service provision.

The approved program belongs to the general advanced training programs aimed at developing the professional competence of trainees, taking into account their previous experience and the needs of state bodies. Upon successful completion of the training, trainees will receive a certificate confirming the acquisition of 2 ECTS.

NGO "Gesture of Support" continues its mission in ensuring the inclusiveness of society and improving communication between state institutions and people with hearing impairments. We invite everyone who is interested to learn and jointly create an accessible environment for everyone!
