BOCHA sports competitions with friends!

As part of the Year of BOCHA in Volyn, on July 16, the NGO "Association of Persons with Disabilities "DOBRODYA V DYI" visited the Christian retreat "Unity" and held a physical fitness game of BOCHA. Every year, for many years in a row, in the summer, in the Fasti tract, the Unity Christian retreat gathers many people with special needs for outdoor recreation, to communicate with each other around the evening fire, to talk about biblical topics and much more.

The friends were looking forward to playing boccia, as many of them had never heard of the sport before.

Let me remind you that boccia is a precision sports game that belongs to the group of ball sports and is a Paralympic sport. It is a game not only for coordination of movements, but also for intelligence. Boccia was conceived to rehabilitate people with cerebral palsy, but later it was played by people with other serious musculoskeletal disorders (muscular dystrophy, spinal injuries, etc.). The essence of the game is to throw the most balls of your team, i.e. of the same color, to the right point - the closest to the white one.

So, despite the weather forecasts for this day, the weather smiled on us and we managed to have a good competition and communicate with friends from different parts of Ukraine. Nine teams competed. Each team consisted of three players. It is worth noting the warm, friendly and friendly atmosphere that prevailed at the tournament.

During the game, representatives of different teams were happy to communicate with each other, joke and cheer for each other. That is why these competitions can be called a meeting of friends, like-minded people and people who are not indifferent to active recreation.

According to their capabilities, the participants were divided into 3 classes: the first one with four limbs (cerebral palsy, etc.)

the second - with four limbs affected ("cervical", myopathy, dystrophy, etc.)

the third - with healthy arms (wheelchair users of the open class, "walkers", etc.).

The boccia competitions were held on 3 peculiar courts - on tents stretched over the surface of fields.

After the results were tallied, the competition ended with the awarding of diplomas to the winners.

According to the final report, the participants' successes are as follows:

Volynsk-Korytnytsia), Halka Ihor (Novovolynsk), Oliynyk Serhii (Vinnytsia-Haisyn) - 2nd place; Bulavka Vitalii (Liuboml-Kusnyshche), Rynkovska Kateryna (Kovel), Marchuk Dmytro (Kovel) - 3rd place;

BOCHA ВС-4/ВС-5 Safinska Victoria (Lviv), Nabrusko Yevhen (Kovel), Melnychuk Vasyl (Kovel) - 1st place; Yefymchuk Andriy (Manevychi Kolky), Mykhalchuk Yuriy (Lviv), Shura Roman (Lviv) - 2nd place; Turmenko Leonid (Lutsk), Kryvun Ivan (Lviv), Kuranov Oleksandr (Ivanychi-Sosnyna) - 3rd place;

BOCHA open class: Yuriy Rychtiuk (Kovel-Malyi Porsk), Nadiya Baran (Lutsk), Pavlo Rumak (Lviv) - 1st place; Iryna Lutenko (Zakarpattia-Tiachiv), Volodymyr Havrylchuk (Ivano-Frankivsk-Nadvirna), Tetyana Valko (Vinnytsia) - 2nd place; Taras Zinchuk (Kivertsi), Valeria Zhmuyda (Kovel), Tetyana Bayuk (Kovel) - 3rd place.

The judging was conducted by: 1st court Lysiuk Volodymyr, secretary Galivoda Liubov; 2nd court Savchuk Ilya, secretary Radomskyi Vladyslav; 3rd court Lutsyk Stanislav, secretary Galivoda Nadiia; chief judge Kravchuk Volodymyr, chief secretary Furmaniuk Inna.
