Our public organization started Ukrainian sign language courses for rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and policemen of the National Police of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Training started on October 30, 2024 at the Sign Language School of the NGO "Gesture of Help" in Ivano-Frankivsk and will continue until November 27. A total of 75 participants have registered, including rescuers and police officers who want to master practical sign language skills to communicate more effectively with hearing impaired people.

These courses are aimed at increasing the level of professional competencies of rescuers and police officers, so that they can provide quality assistance and ensure the safety of all citizens, including persons with disabilities. The initiative is part of the broader work of the public organization, which aims to create an inclusive and barrier-free society.

Features of communication with people with hearing impairment are an important aspect of work for rescue services and the police. In situations where every second counts, sign language skills will help rescuers and police quickly establish communication and provide the necessary assistance to those in need.
