Employees of the executive authorities and local self-government bodies of Kovel district, Volyn region, took a two-month course on mastering practical skills of Ukrainian sign language at the Sign Language School of the NGO "Gesture Of Support".

It should be noted that the attitude towards people with hearing impairments in our country has begun to change. Recently, more and more people and government agencies have begun to pay attention to sign language and want to learn it. For example, the Kovel District State Administration responded positively to a proposal to hold sign language courses for employees of the district's public institutions.

For two months, employees of the district's institutions and services, whose activities are related to public services, mastered the skills of communicating in sign language under the guidance of experienced trainers from the School of Sign Language and volunteers for whom sign language is the only means of communication.

After completing the training, employees of state and local governments successfully passed the exam and received certificates of mastery of practical skills in Ukrainian sign language.

We believe that the knowledge gained will help to provide better administrative services for people with hearing impairments. After all, the more people have basic skills in sign language communication, the more comfortable the life of people with hearing impairments will be!

The staff of the Sign Language School of the NGO "Gesture Of Support" highly appreciated the desire and motivation of the students to master the skills of sign language.
